HBO and Sky have released the first teaser and images for WAR, a new high-stakes legal drama starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller.
Created by George Kay, the writer behind Lupin and Hijack, the eight-episode first season will premiere on October 1, 2026, with new episodes arriving weekly on Thursdays.
In the UK and Ireland, WAR will air on Sky and stream on NOW, while viewers in the United States will be able to watch the series on HBO and HBO Max.
What Is WAR About?
Set within the fiercely competitive world of London's top legal firms, WAR centres on Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne, two rival practices prepared to do almost anything to win.
At the centre of the story is ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, played by Archie Renaux, who finds himself drawn into a world where professional ambition, personal betrayal and ruthless strategy go hand in hand.
The first season follows the explosive divorce of British technology entrepreneur Morgan Henderson, played by Dominic West, and international film star Carla Duval, played by Sienna Miller.
With both sides represented by some of London's most formidable lawyers, the divorce quickly develops into a headline-making legal battle in which neither firm intends to back down.

Dominic West stars as Morgan Henderson, alongside Sienna Miller as Carla Duval.
The cast also includes Phoebe Fox as Serena Byrne and James McArdle as Nicholas Taylor, partners both professionally and personally at Taylor & Byrne.
Nina Sosanya plays Beatrice “Queen Bea” Ubosi, while Pip Torrens stars as St John Smallwood, their fierce rivals at Cathcarts & Sons.
Archie Renaux appears as ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren.
The wider ensemble includes Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, Emma Laird, Archie Panjabi, Adrian Scarborough, Shaheen Jafargholi, Honor Swinton Byrne, Miles Jupp, Alexandra Mardell, Steve Furst and more.

WAR Has Already Been Renewed for Season 2
HBO and Sky have already given WAR a two-season order, with production on the second season currently underway.
Season 2 will introduce another major legal battle, this time involving an explosive defamation case.
Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald and David Harewood are confirmed to star in the second season as the lawyers from the series become caught up in another headline-making dispute.
Who Is Behind WAR?
WAR was created, written and executive produced by George Kay.
The series is co-produced by New Pictures, a Banijay company, and Observatory Pictures, in association with HBO and Sky.
Ben Taylor serves as lead director, with Laurie Borg producing the series.
Executive producers include Willow Grylls and Matt Sandford for New Pictures, alongside Susan Breen, Ben Taylor, Andrea Dewsbury and Megan Spanjian for Sky.
When Does WAR Release?
WAR Season 1 premieres October 1, 2026.
