Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald, the intense new thriller follows a powerful London lawyer whose ordinary morning run becomes a terrifying fight to bring her kidnapped son home.
What Is The Runner About?
Maia Marten, played by Gal Gadot, has built her career by always remaining one step ahead.
Sharp, resourceful and operating at the top of London’s legal world, Maia is accustomed to staying in control. However, everything changes when she receives a phone call during her routine morning run.
Her son has been kidnapped.
The person responsible gives Maia a set of simple but merciless instructions: she must keep moving, obey every command and tell no one what is happening.
If she stops, her son dies.
Forced to run through London while carrying out a series of increasingly dangerous demands, Maia must find a way to survive, uncover who is controlling her and rescue her son before time runs out.
Every decision carries a consequence, and every second brings her closer to an impossible choice between protecting the life she has built and saving the person she loves most.

The Runner transforms London’s crowded streets, connected technology and maze-like Underground network into part of the threat.
Maia may be surrounded by thousands of people, security cameras and mobile devices, but she cannot risk asking anyone for help. The mysterious caller appears to be watching her every move and is prepared to punish any attempt to escape.
